Obcasus is a Finnish black metal band from Kuopio, founded in 2017. Emerging from the cold heart of Eastern Finland, the six-piece channels the darkness of the North into a sound that is both furious and melodic. Their music fuses relentless blast beats and razor-sharp riffing with haunting lead melodies and atmospheric keyboards, creating a cosmic and apocalyptic soundscape. With their debut album Omega Prophet (2021), Obcasus introduced themselves as part of a new generation of Finnish black metal — rooted in the raw traditions of the genre, yet enriched by modern production and expansive songcraft. Their forthcoming second album Omega Sermon (2025) promises to push their vision further, exploring themes of death, void, and the collapse of cosmic order.
